As the pundits predicted, Brit opened the show but her only performance being of the acting variety with Superbad's Jonah Hill.Other than a UK host Russell Brand's attempt at manic humor at the expense of the virginal Jonas Bros. and the fact Kayne West still didn't win a video (keeping his cool this time), the VMAs were a lackluster affair.25 years of shameless posturing means MTV is truly now The Establishment and their domination of the "Industry of Cool" may be at an end.Besides, YouTube's killed the Video Star since MTV rarely plays music videos on any of its channels.
